W7 and outlook 64

my son got outlook express 64 maybe outlook 64 running for one day
the next day it wouldnt run any more
the only problem i ever had with oe was the difficulty in saving emails to independent files automaticaly

i've just been troubled by outlook being flipping difficult since i updated to win 7 64 (am sure its not awin 7 64 issue) but I found that under account settings, more settings, security always ask for identification seemed to fix the issues. the symptoms were stalling, refusing to open emails, having to re-start it when it froze etc. this all went away when I changed that setting. seems that outlook doesn't want to tell you that it needs a password, just has a sulk and doesn't let you enter one.
