Is this fair to "overclock" mainboards in factory nd than sell them "overclocked"? In a test between Via KT333 chipped mobos in THG some boards had more than 1533,33Mhz for AMD Athlon 1800+ prosessor. And it is natural that more overclocked mobos shows greater performances.

technically its not fair, but some do it anyway.
ASUS is notorious for doing this!

when i got my a7v133 i found my 1200Mhz chip running at 1225Mhz, thanx to an elevated FSB, the default core voltage of 1.75v actually gave 1.80v and the 3.3v memory voltage was a whopping 3.56v!
a friend also found his 1400mhz cpu at a default speed of 1445mhz.

so yeah. they can do that, however its not really ethically right. but such boards do perform better in benchmarks, as typically the differences between most boards is slim.

<b>Before visiting THG i was a clueless noob. Now im still clueless, but look at my nice title!<b>
