I have a dell Inspiron 8200 with the Dell TrueMobile 1150 internal
mini PCI wireless card. Is there any way to connect a home made
pringles can antenna to the internal card so that I can increase the
distance I can reach and connect to a far away network?

Well, sort of. Open the cover over the Mini-PCI card on the bottom of
your machine, and you'll see the antenna connectors. Unplug one of
them, plug in your Pringles Can antenna, and see how it does. It's
kinda messy, and finding connectors, patch cables, etc may be
difficult, but it's do-able...
