I'd like to buy one game just for the free times. If you had to buy 1 game for an e4300 (OC to 2.0, maybe higher soon) with 2gb Corsair XMSPRO and an ATI X1600pro, what would it be? I want something that really flexes the hardware muscle while running smoothly, and is fun to play. I just want to be able to use my computer for anything, and gaming is the only thing I have not tried yet. I'm not really interested in network gaming, and I just want something to pull up every now and again to have a blast playing. Thanks for any suggestions.
And add Pro-Evolution Soccer 6 if you like footie. Great for having a quick game - fire it up, play 1 game and quit - all done in 15 minutes. Civ will suck away your free time!
What type of game would you be most interested in? Fast paced, slow paced, skill oriented, thinking oriented, etc? Do you have a feel for genre or type (sports, fighting, car racing, strategy, role playing, shooter, etc.?) When you say networked, would you like to play locally with a friend, or connect to a server and play with many strangers?
Thanks for the suggestions!
I just want to play alone, during any amount of extended free time that may miraculously pop up. As regards genres, I find shooters to be entertaining, and I'm definitely not into RPGs. Call me cheesy, but I like graphics-intense action, and stellar graphics always validate an enjoyable gaming experience for me (*drool* bright colors; how elementary of me) -- yes, I would have gotten a better video card if I was really into games, but it's not my thing. I always like to have to think a bit.
you could try an RTS like company of heroes. quite a good game. got a lot of good point as far as i can tell and not too much bad ones.
also, due to its zoom function you can play it just like a third person shooter, i wish it had a fisrt person view like Earth 2160 but it don't which is a shame.
