I have everything maxed out and AAx8, playing at 1280x720, but shadows coming off of stationary objects are all choppy, anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Is it just me or does it looks like you have the game running with low texture settings or something? Maybe your graphics card is crap and the games automatically setting low-resolution shadows to the game because of that. Oh and Battle Field 2 never had great shadows anyway so I don’t think they could get much better anyway. BF2142 on the other hand does so you might want to try that game out… but if it is your graphics card then you might get the same problem again.

Could be too new and not recognised on the GPU chart the game has, there for defaulting the settings for shadows to low. Also you are running the game in a low resolution (one notch up from 1024X768) that could also be a contributing factor to the low resolution shadows.
