The arrival God of War II for the PlayStation 2 is about a week away. TwitchGuru takes a look at the demo version of the highly anticipated sequel to find out if the God of War sequel can live up to its predecessor and maybe even surpass it.
I'm getting tired of critics wanting something to be different just for the sake of difference when it comes to sequels. You're supposed to change something only if it's BUSTED. If the mechanics in GOW were flawless then why change anything? Continue the story and don't bother fiddling about!
When was the last time we played GOW anyway? A year or more? Do we have a perfect memory of what it was like? In an age where we can play SO MANY games a year who cares if the new one plays just like the old one? Especially if it was game of the year.
The only thing that will detract from GOW is the story, the bar is set high and a lesser tale would disappoint.
So far, the game kicks much ass. I'm glad there are no changes to fighting and such. After all, the story begins when the other ends. So far the new things you can do - fly around for example - are fun additions.
