Can a Shuttle AK31 motherboard support an Athlon XP 2100+ to run at 1.73GHz??

Yes, I just checked for you on shuttles site and it supports up to 2100+. Simply flash the board to the recent BIOS and you should be set.

<font color=blue>A bit of warning though.</font color=blue> I have this board and when I first got it and flashed it with what shuttle's website said was the most recent BIOS was actually two versions OLDER than what was already on the board. It's weird, but shuttle only has old BIOS versions on the site. So if you want I will email you with the most recent BIOS, which I have saved on disk. Other than that this is a very feature rich, good and solid board.

I was checking out new computers and there was an Athlon XP 2200+ and Shuttle AK31 motherboard combo. Would the 2200+ work in the motherboard??

Yes, check this this <A HREF="http://www.spacewalker.com/english/readmeak31v3x.htm" target="_new">page</A> for a list of BIOS revisions, the second to last update included support for the 2200+.

Also you can finally download the recent BIOS directly from shuttle <A HREF="http://www.spacewalker.com/english/note1.asp?product=AK31%20(V3.x)" target="_new">here</A>
