When I play Unreal Torn. 2004 with about 15 bots and the highest settings, everything plays fine. But when I raise my bots to 32 the graphics get choppy, less smooth. Where's the bottle neck at? Here's my specs:

2.0 dual core Opteron
1.0 Gig value OCZ ram
256mb Nvidia 7600GT

I went to Windows Administration and looked at the performance graph...but it doens't make since because while I played the game, it showed the disk que and memory to be at 0, while cpu was at 63 percent.

Your cpu is not only managing the game but you're making it deal with running 32 individual ai players..... Seriously like..... get a net connection and play against ppl.

yeah, but my cpu was only at 63 percent so the bottleneck wasn't there. I gather the bottle neck would ethier be in the video card itself or the ram, where 1 gig isn't enough...but it seems like 1 gig would be enough.

Try online with 32, there should be a huge dif.

Yeah, but I'm curiouse to where the bottleneck is off line.

I would say the RAM. You may want to try overclocking your CPU to see if it improves your Framerate. If your bottleneck lies there, even the slightest clock increase should have a big effect.

Probably RAM, OC those timid beasts, cpu and video card!

I see alot of people using opterons.. thought they were for servers, are they better for gaming than their regular desktop couterparts?

The 939 Opterons were the king of overclocking. A lot of them had 1M cache as opposed to 512Kb too, if I am not mistaken....

i cant think of any opty dualcores with less than 1mb of l2 cache
