I've decided to give up all of my characters except for one. Time
constraints are the main issue, and the Thief game of course.
Anyway, I started a Skellimancer a few days ago. He's been playing solo
mostly, every once in awhile he'll get some company but not often.
Act 1 was no big deal, Act 2 was even easier. Boy, these new Skellies kick
some monster ass!
Anyway, Act 3 was pretty durn easy since I got some assistance with the
WP's. Meph went down faster than Duriel, probably because I had more
Skellies at that point.
Act 4 wasn't a big deal until I got into the Chaos Sanctuary. IM is about
the only thing that kills my Skellies, it seems. Oh, and a Champion pack of
those FireBreathing Lizard bastages chewed through them fairly quickly as
well. And Diablo. He wiped them out instantly, so I had to cheat a little
bit.
Cast Iron Maiden, and then cast Clay Golem. Then cast CG again, and again.
Oops! IM ran out. Cast IM again, then CG, CG, CG, IM, CG, CG, CG, IM, CG,
CG, etc etc.
I thought I was pretty safe, then I ran out of mana pots. TP'd to town,
then entered the portal only to realize he had me Bone Prisoned. Argh!! Of
course the next thing I see is the big River of Flames heading in my
direction, and then I'm a crispy corpse inside the Bone Prison.
Go back through the WP, take the long walk, and start spamming IM and Golems
again.
It took awhile, but he eventually killed himself. Diablo, not me
).
Act 5 wasn't too bad, except it seemed like everything was ignoring my
Skellies and going straight for the Prayer Merc. It wasn't really a big
deal, but just annoying. The Skellies were still holding their own, the
only time I noticed a difference is if they happened to get poisoned. Then
the Prayer aura would have been nice, but I wasn't resurrecting him every 15
seconds, so that was that.
He's now doing Eldritch/Pindle/Shenk runs in full games, the Baalers I ran
into the other night took offense to all the Skellies, and then called me a
leech and a noob when I stood back and just cast some curses. They never
seemed to notice they shredded everything twice as fast when I had Amp going
so it was their loss
Anyway, he's currently lvl 31 or so, I plan on having max Skellies and 10 or
so SM before going on to NM.
