Do these 2 go together? Just wondering if there is any point in buying oblivion with an E6600, 7600GT and 1 gig of ram. Can i tweak the settings and get playable framerates at 1024x768 or 1280x1024. The THG charts don't look promising. (7FPS) :(

It will run good/great overall. I have a BFG 7600gt OC, that runs the game great in my opinion. You of course will have to lower some settings, but you will be happy with it. An extra Gig of RAM cannot hurt either.

U sure? Those charts must be really messed up then, if with an fx60 they got 7fps. Or maybe the settings were turned up too high when they made them. Also, would I get noticeably better performance by ocing-let's say 100-200Mhz?

Wow 7fps that must be at 1600X1200. Check out the link below, you should be able to get 20-30fps with med-high settings.

Here is the link. But still, 14 fps is pretty bad... should I turn the settings WAY down or attempt to overclock it to standard settings used by manufacturers?

Yea, that is really low FPS. But the settings are almost maxed out. I was able to get down to med/high setting and oblivion still looks good. But as you know everyone sees graphics differently and has different expectations. I hope you get the settings you are looking for. I do love that game though.

Take a look at this..

Some say if you run this with those "better graphics" mods, the game looks much better then as if you ran it with stock oblivion and those mods.

it will work fine in medium/high settings at 1000 resoulation not 1200

I have an x800 and it runs oblivion fine on medium settings so a 7600gt will be fine, just as long as you keep the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 and you will probably get some nice visuals.
