Love it? Hate it?
Main deal is I have everything coming from one place, and the only KT333 boards they have are as follows:

Asus A7V333 (limited to 2 slots DDR333)
Abit KX7-333 (3 slots DDR333)
CHAINTECH 7VJL (who?)
SOLTEK SL-75DRV5 (refuse to go purple...)
Gigabyte GA-7VRXP (everyone trashes it)

One place means less shipping.. $390.00 for a case, DVD, floppy, 256MB 2700 C2, AXP 1900+ (w/ fan & HS), and GA-7VRXP.

Abit will drop it $16, 512 2700 C2 would add $56
Cheapest place I've found, and I have done buisness with them (ABS computers) for years, so I know they wont screw me. That in mind, are ANY of these boards good?

Say, what version of DOS is on this sparc thingie?

I can speak on the Abit KX7-333.

It is what most call an enthusiast board. It does not contain on-board
sound or NIC. It does not have USB2 (it has 4 USB1 ports). This makes
the board very nice if you already have your own Sound and NIC. It also
makes the board ideal for overclocking.

The good:
The board is very stable. It is very fast and it overclocks better than
most KT333 boards.

The bad(there is only one issue):
This board supports the Athlon XP processor, but does not currently support
the Tbred processor(xp2200+ or higher). Abit is aware of this problem and
will modify(fix) the board. Later versions(1.2) should have this problem
solved so call them and ask what version of the board it is.

I love the board, but I'm a little dissappointed that I will not be able
to upgrade to a Tbred later. A minor issue since my system is so fast
now that I'm not sure what I would do with the extra speed :)

Damn.. Everything I try falls through.. No KD7 out yet, which would certainly solve my crisis...

Oh well, I guess I'll go with the Abit either way.. If I find the new board, I'll order it seperate.. If not I'll take the old one.. only $80, and I'm sure it'll be a year before I try to upgrade again... If the boards as great as you claim, I can eat the $80...

Thanks for the input, man...

That's not a bad deal for $390..that problem is that it comes with GA-7VRXP mobo. Get an Abit KX7R-333 incase you decided to use raid in the near future. I'm currently using this board and I love it. I haven't overclock it yet.

Yeh I was disappointed when I found out that Abit KX7-333 doesn't take XP2200+ or higher because XP2200+ is really cheap now, $146. Son of the b....

According to Abit, they will fix the problem by modifying the board. You
will need to ship it to them(your cost) and wait about 2 weeks. Abit will
repair it for free. They will then ship you the same board(your cost)
which will support the Tbred.

Other forums have stated that the v1.2 board is what is being shipped. So
it is likely that any new orders will received the updated version.

Though Abit hasn't answered yet, the other two sources I have talked to say that a BIOS update fixes the issue. The downfall being that you have to have an older chip to update the BIOS...
