I ordered a $11 component cable for the PS2 after hearing it would work on a PS3 however it give me goobledeguk on the screen.

Is there a setting change that needs to be made to make this cable work ?

I sold my sons Xbox360 to get the PS3 for him. The cable for the Xbox 360 has a HDTV switch on it.

Anything for PS3 that will allow this cable to work ?

You must of got a bad cable. I was using my ps2 cable for a while no issues. The ps3 defaults the analog output.

The $10 PS2 cable does work.
I had to go into settings and alloe component 480,720,1080.

Its all good.
