I've read lots of post and lots of forums and a lot of people seem to have the same performance issues as myself. But we all share one thing in common, we all own nvidia cards. I'm trying to find out if anyone that plays Vanguard SoH with a decent ATI card has the same performance issues as myself. I usually play on balanced and average mid 30's FPS outdoors with 2 characters. A full group is just horrible on balanced. In town is rough with 12 - 20 FPS on average.

The performance issues are having low framerates when they should be higher or getting great framerates in one area and then they drop to the floor for no graphical reason. My system is:

E6600
2GB ram
8800 GTS
gigabyte-ds3
raptor 150gb x2

I have no problems playing other games, and just want to see if people with ati are having the same framerate issues as myself.

couldn't say myself dude. But you could try looking at reviews and performance comparisons of the game. Might just be a game issue with the 8 series, or nvidia in general :P

Not just the 8 series, I know people with 7800's 7900's, and 7600's that have same performance. And I have looked for comparison of the two cards in other forums but didn't have anything posted on any of the many forums I searched through. Doesn't matter, I'll just buy an ATI card and be the judge of it.

dont buy an ATi card just for that game yet dude :P ill have a search on google with ya k. Ill post when i find something, theres bound to be something with Nv vs Ati

ok mate heres the bad news. Vanguard is just poorly coded to begin with, Nvidia or ATi it doesn't matter. I found a review of a guy who uses an Ati card.

heres a quote from it "On my computer, a Core 2 Duo E6400 with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and an ATI Radeon X1800, it still gets clunky and jerky, while Half-Life 2 is smooth as glass."

You might just have to wait it out for the performance issues to be sorted. Also, everything else i read about the game including user comments have had lots of complaints about performance. So its definately not just you and your mates Nvidia cards.

Enjoy choppy gameplay

By the way, did they finish the game yet? At release it was what.. 50-75% done?

what games do get completely finished :P

I have almost the same setup, except for the mobo, and I am having the same troubles. Not only does the game STOP FOR SEVERAL SECONDS in the middle of wandering around or seeing other players, but sometimes player's outfits and skins fail to render, so people are walking around half invisible. ALSO THE GAME KICKS ME OUT WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BATTLE ALMOST HALF THE TIME! Vanguard sucks! I'm glad I didn't buy it, my coworker friend did it for me.

All other games run great. I thought my issues had to do with Windows vista but it's just Vanguard being stupid! I don't have the heart to tell my friend how screwed up this game is, he loves it and devotes his life to it.

I find Halo to be rather polished. But that was originally made for the Xbox :\. You're right. PC game companies need to freaking finish their games before selling them!
