My IBM Hard Disk DTLA 307045 [46 GB] runs only very very slowley with my new GA-8IHXP Gigabyte Motherboard [Intel 850E Chipset]. It takes about 5 min. to start the XP Installation and druing it breaks down. But on my old system it runs without any problem.
Maybe someone of you has an idea wich can solve my problem, but first i will tell you what i have done:
Bios update
Connect the hard disk to both IDE and Raid Controller as Master or Slave jumpert with different cabels
I killed all my partions
I Download an IBM Hard Disk utility and changed the cache settings of the hard disk and the UDMA Mode
also I checked the Hard Disk - no failure
and at last I changed the Motherboard
but the problem is still a life. I had also an older IBM Hard Disk and this runs without any problem.
My System
1,6 Ghz Intel CPU - OVERCLOCKED to 2,128 Ghz [fixe FSB 133,33]

Chaintech GA-321 Geforce 3 128 MB TI 200
