installing software on new comp.

i just got a new computer...everytime i try to install a
program (programs on CD), the computer says that it
cannot find the installation program. These programs
work with my other computers (with windows operatiing
systems), so what am i doing wrong here? i'm not a
computer whiz, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Are you running in an administrator account?

Start/run services.msc, is the Windows Installer service a) listed, b) set
to manual and c) set to run as the local system?
