Can anyone please help me with this problem? Thanks in advance, for at least reading this.

Set up: gigabyte ga-8igx, p4 2.26a, pc2100 512mb plus the rest. No pci cards, as sound and lan onboard. Windows XP.
Driver: Intel Proset II (tried both the cd supplied and intel website downloaded versions)
Misc: have installed MSTFs 128 bit encryption pack Encpack_win2000_en.exe (this was the last thing i tried)

Problem: I cannot get the onboard lan to run at 100mbps. When it auto detects, it selects 10mbps. When I manually select 100mbps, the network card 'fails', and XP tells me 'a network cable is unplugged'.
