I just got a new Dell with Windows XP. When a program starts, a "ding" is heard to let me know the program is starting. However, lately, I have noticed that "ding" to sound at the oddest times.
Does anyone know what it is? It is driving me crazy.

Hi
Have you had a look in Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Sounds tab to see if there are any 'strange' entries? If so, uncheck them and then see if you still get the unaccounted for 'dings'
