To be fair Ive been playing the PC version of Halo and dont see any redeeming properties in this title. Everyone says this game is AWESOME but it looks to me just to be a run of the mill fps. Ive even played the multiplayer and wasnt the least bit impressed ...what am I missing here people? Can anyone suggest any mods that might make this title a little more enjoyable???
Well, It's very well hyped game but indeed, it is stupid, boring and crappy as hell. Most people will play whatever they see advertised. They want someone to tell them to what to play because searching for good games is time consuming job. And that's when Microsoft and their advertising powers come in handy. XBox's must be sold whatever the cost.
I played it on XBox and found the campaign to be boringly repetitive. Multiplayer was a bit more fun, but not enough to justify the hype. Never considered getting it for PC when they are so many better FPS titles availaible on PC.
This game is awesome!.......Oh wait its not 2001 anymore.....so its just ok now. Point is that this game was cool back then when it first was released, especially for a console FPS which were pretty rare back then. If you just recently bought it and have played other games like HL2, Fay Cry, etc... its may not seem as great as the hype.

The game was good for people that never had a PC and were not well versed in First Person Shooter games. But when it came to anyone that had a PC for a while and had been playing games for a few years Halo was indeed a mediocre game that would have just been a boring run of the mill game if it were released for the PC.
But for all the console players out there, it was new and it was exciting it was like nothing that a console had ever seen before. Basically it was a mediocre FPS that was the best in development at that time which was for sale that Microsoft chose to help give the XBOX a push in sales and it worked and paid off immensely.
They knew the console crowed was starved and was near enough virgin material when it came to FPS games. So it was a logical choice to actually put some money in to a FPS console title.

I thought it was pretty good for a console shooter and it did offer some campaign co-op (even though split-screen isn't very good), but for me it was all about driving the warthog.

It was good for the first 5 minutes but got boring very quickly, I too got some pleasure out of skidding the warthog about but that soon wore off. I mean shortly after Halo everyone who had a PC got Battlefield 1942 and that taken vehicle usage to a completely new level with players being able to control submarines and battle ships as well as planes and tanks. Not to forget the famous jeep that blew up every time it hit a pebble in the road.
And as far as co-op goes the PC had Serious Sam, that game was great playing with a few friends online. It’s just for me when the game came out there was so much happening in 2002 that it just slipped under the net and because I was a PC man at that point I just found it frustrating also to have to use a controller. I never completed Halo on the console, as when I got to half way through the flood I just got really bored and never played it again. Completed the game on the PC though but that was more because I wanted to see the ending this time round…
Not saying it’s a bad game or anything I am just saying if the game were released on the PC it would not have had the impact it had on people. People love new and exciting things and Halo was at that time new and exciting for people that never had a PC (was still a lot of people back then). But now the FPS market is flooded on the consoles so I don’t know how much of an impact any single FPS can have nowadays. I can’t see Halo3 being a long-lived release. It might sell well as the 360 market is starved of good games right now but I can’t see it being talked about for years like Halo was.

I'm still waiting for the original halo.. before m$.. I did play halo on the xbox, co-op only, all difficulties a few times, I dont think I can play that game anymore, just so repetitive, there's snow! there's a gray wall! there's grass! there's snow again! and another gray wall!...
Yeah, the game sucks big-time. It sucked back then, it sucks now. Halo2 sucks too. I just can't understand how an FPS on a game pad can be suspenseful? It takes multiple seconds to just turn around. WAAAAY too slow for my taste.
