Tim Sweeney President - Epic Games

AMD's new quad-core technology should provide a great performance boost for today's high-end PC games," said Tim Sweeney, founder of Epic Games Inc. "Our Unreal Engine 3 game technology can take advantage of four and even eight processor cores, improving performance by accelerating physics and AI calculations, and increasing the realism of the game environments our artists can build. Upcoming games like Unreal Tournament 3 will truly fly on these new CPUs.

For those who dropped the bucks on a quad... I hope you like shooters :)

Just thought this was a possible bit of light at the end of a tunnel that seemed to have little to nothing for 4 cores to run.

Hey, in Q3 the Q6600 will be around 250 bucks estimated. Be a good steal for a processor, and still give awesome performance. :D

Ah... to have waited 3 months... I could have had a QX6700 for half what I paid for it.

I think this is a big step though... the first real multithreaded game to utilize 4 cores... its driving me a little insane waiting for so long after so many pushbacks.

Ummm yeah... so I'll have to wait Q4 07 just to use an AMD Quad core

Well... I am currently waiting myself... nothing uses the 4 cores whole.

Didn't really post this as a negative but i see your point.

Yeah, mostly why I postponed my desktop build. Bought a nice laptop instead!
