So I have a laptop that can handle high resolution outputs (1080p) but isn't capable of playing hi-def content smoothly (1.8ghz Turion). So I am looking for a 720p projector.

I want to use with my video files, dvd's, etc. What would be the best resolution for me to get?

1280x720
1280x768
1280x800

I want a wide-screen format (16x9) that the laptop can take advantage of best (would 1280x768 or 800 be the best?) I would be using d-sub (vga), or HDMI as an input.

Here is one that caught my eye:

Any input would be appreciated.

First is to set the maximum resolution your computer can play High Def smothly and use that resolution for the projector.

Your only limitation is the video hardware on your computer.
