WHY IS THERE VIDEO NOISE ON SOME LASERDISCS?

Video noise can be caused by the media at hand (the disc itself) or the player. Since this is old technology there is probably no way around this issue. My dad has a bunch of Laserdiscs, The first two Lethal Weapons, Star Wars IV, V, VI, The first three Indiana Jones's, Running Scared (original: Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines), the first National Lampoons, Urban Cowboy, Top Gun, Tango and Cash, and a few others. Wish they still sold Beta Players also, my dad has a whole 80's movie collection which i grew up on, with three dead Beta Players.
