I have a Gigabyte M/B with an Award dual Bios v4.51pg.
ID String 2a69kg0ec-00
I purchased a 80 GB HDD and needed to flash my Bios to accomadate this new hardware.
So, I find the right upgrade,(F2 for GA 6BXE) Run the award flash utility,
backup the old bios and install the new Bios,
The flash utilitiy then ask me if I want to Reset or Exit.
I select exit, instantly, the PC emits a long beep, repeated endlessly.
Now I have checked several websites which state that this "DualBios" will let one reset the bios if a corrupt or incorrect bios is loaded, however I do not get this option.
I cannot find a description of this beep code. Award now Phonex, state that there are only 2 error codes
"AwardBIOS -- The only AwardBIOS beep code indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. This beep code consists of a single long beep followed by two short beeps. Any other beeps are probably a RAM (Random Access Memory) problem.
My monitor does not display any text at all.
This cannot be the case as I have not changed any H/W or RAM
So, Can anyone tell me what the error code means
or better still how to repair this.
Any help greatly appricated

My error codes are in my mb manual but are not award. Check there, if you lost it try the mb's website download manual.
