Is that possible?
Current I have an Athlon Thunderbird 1,2GHz, but wan't to upgrade. (Hopefully without upgrading my Mobo as well)
I'm using the latest BIOS driver (XP+ CPU compatible)
Has anyone tried this, or a similar combination???

I'm all ears.. (Well so to speak I guess)

Regards MacLeod

Hmm, from the Asus website, looks like it's not possible :\
I'd suggest getting an A7V333, my brother has one with a 2100+ and it works perfectly.

The processor will most likely work.

But you will be locked at 13x133, and you won't get the benefits from the few extra (SSE) instructions.

The processor will most likely post, and run windows XP very well. I wouldn't be surprised if you had to do completely manual settings, though...

Just wan't to add, that I have the possibility to multiply x14, and not x13 as mentioned in the above post.
Donno if this helps me, but this was only made possible after the latest BIOS upgrade. Original the multiplier was set at max. x12½, but was altered as the XP+ CPU was made compatible.....

What?

You're kidding.

I have an Asus A7V133a, and I didn't know it was XP capable.

Dude. I may have to rethink my upgrade policy.

This changes EVERYTHING...
