Porblem with EPoX MoBo

Just built a new CPU for my g/f. Athlon XP 2000/EPoX 8k5a2/512MB PC2700/etc.

Every time I disconnect power to the system, then reconnect and try to boot, the BIOS says my CPU Clock ratio is incorrect, then changes it and reboots the system. ONce rebooted, my CPU registers as AMD 1250MHz. I have to go into the BIOS and change the clock speed and reboot to fix. I have flashed the BIOS to no avail. Any ideas?

i read that the XP2000 doesn't work with that mobo. the 1900 and the 2100 do though. weird..
