I'm going to purchase an Epox 8K5A2+ board, an XP 1800 which I would like to over clock, and most likely 512 pc2x00. Do the performance gains of pc2700 over 2100 outweigh the price difference? Also would it behoove me to go with a formitable brand name like corsair to make sure I can oc the cpu, or would I see similar results from a brand like kingston or samsung? thanks in advance.

Hey C,

1st question: no, the Athlon XP's can't really use the addtional bandwidth of PC2700 DDR. 2nd question: as far as DDR or RD-Ram goes, Samsung rules over all. Anything that is claiming to run faster is just rebadged Samsung.

If it was me, I would just get 512mb of Samsung PC2700 DDR....that way, I wouldn't have to worry about the stability of the DDR, when OC'ing. Good Luck

Peace Out..................tile

god knows your entire system setup & he would answer your questions if he could just stop laughing
