Help! I cant get my system to run stable. I keep getting the blue screen of death when I set my processor to run at its rated 1800 MHZ (13.5 X 133). The processor is stable at the default 13.5 X 100 setting however. Also, my hard disk access is extremely, extremely slow -- the access light is on but it seems to freeze up for about a minute then go on, then freeze, then go on, and so on. I'm very frustrated and have tried everything. I have verified all jumpers are set correctly. Maybe there is something messed up with my IDE? I have tried re-formatting the HD and starting over with a fresh install but it takes about 5 hours to install XP.

Any help is appreciated. Here is the current config:

A7V333 w/XP 2200+
512 MB PC2100 DDR RAM
Leadtech A250 GF4 Ti4400 128MB card

Help! I'm about to beat the computer with a sledgehammer!

Ups sorry, Power Supply Unit. It's the box inside the case which you plug the computer in.

I would be checking into the memory....been seeing lots of posts on the asus forums having trouble with the 2100 and these systems. i am running 2700 and having no problems whatsoever. Also yu need to be sure of your bios setup and whether you are running jumpered or jumperless mb. Believe nme, it can make a big difference in the performance of yoiur machine.

My friend had the same problem on different AMD system. And it was caused by bad HDD. Just try another one.
