I was wondering, because they've released it as budget software now.

I was really looking forward to it, but the demo blew so bad I didn't buy it.

Dropping even $9.99 on it would be a waste if it wasn't improved by patches.

I don't need a perfect RPG experience, but I do want to know that the game works.

To show my standards are not that high:

I thought Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor and TR:AoD were playable as value titles.

I bought and played it more than a year ago. They patched the retail version a few times.. It was fun, but not what I was looking for which was a dungeon siege replacement. It's worth $10, I paid the full price for it.

Only downside is getting through a few missions can take a few hours. That I didn't like. No way to come back half-way through.

IIRC they did finally fix the game but instead of releasing the fix they tried to sell it as either an expensive add on or an entirely new game.

Idiots.
