Motherboard doesnt wanna shut down!

Everytime i press shut down in windows xp the computer shuts down but then turns back on by itself as if it was reseted. I oced my 1600+ but it was working fine before but i installed a second HDD so i took that off to c if thats the problem but it wasnt. how can i fix this.

msi kt3 ultra
axp 1600+@2200+
crucial 256 pc2100
40gb and 13gb maxtor 7200rpm

Looks like a PSU problem for me. Do you have an extra PSU to test the system?

You need to identify what causes it. Open <b>System Properties</b> by pressing <b><font color=blue>Windows Logo</b></font color=blue> key and <b>Pause/Break</b> key. Click on <b>Advanced</b> tab and go to setting of <b>Startup and Recovery</b>. Uncheck <b>Automatically restart</b>, then shutdown your comp. It should display a <b>STOP</b> blue screen showing which device or application is reponsible.
I used to have this problem before. Turned out it was my Adaptec CD Creator 4.xx that caused it. Uninstalling it fixed this problem on mine.
