bf 2142 resolution isses on 8800gts

I thought I would try asking here....

I have a 8800gts in my E6700 power gaming box, everything in there is cutting edge so I thougth I would have no issues. I also have a 20.1 dell LCD with the proper driver installed and running the desktop at 1650

in playing bf2142 I cannot get the resolution over 1024 x 768. I can choose from the high med low setting and in the drop down a 1100<<something is avalible but looks like crap.

I was running a X800 in a prior box and ran bf all the way up (I think 1280) and I have several friends with lesser cards running higher than I can get. I have tried drivers, setting etc....

Am I missing something? I can play everything else (FEAR, HL, Halo) on whatever the highest settings are.

any thoughts would be great....I need to be sniping attack choppers. Right now I can hit a Jeep driver but no reason to buy a 400$ card and not have high power video.

I have the same exact issue. I just setup my PC to run in XP. Had all the res choices when running the game in vista.

Crashes led me to reinstall XP...and my max is the same as the posters above. Any ideas???

To change the resolution to higher than BF2142 allows, right-click your desktop shortcut and in the target window where it shows the location of the file add +szx 1280 +szy 1024, this will set the resolution to 1280x1024, just substitute the two numbers to whatever resolution you want to set it to.

I have this issue with bf2 not 2142, I just ramped up the AA and it looks fine.
