Yes, but if you're looking at a "533MHz", I would recommend PC3200. This is because the 3:4 CPU:RAM bus ratio will be well over PC2700 speed at DDR354.

Ummmmmmmmm.

No.

But you can if you want to!

That's the beauty of it. You can run at a FSB of 133mhz, or 100mhz, or 166mhz, or 200mhz.

But, if you try 200mhz and your system isn't stable, then you have to drop down to 166mhz. =(

Or 133mhz. =( =(

Or 100mhz, if your mainboard is really @$$-old... =P

[edit: oh wait! That's a p4 mainboard? I think you can choose to run the memory async, but I know not. You probably should be able to)

P4's @ 3600Mhz ()wNz J00 4LL!!!!!!

You wouldn't have to overclock. What I'm saying is simply this: Your chipset supports the following memory mutiplier ratios: 3:4, 4:4, and 4:3. Now, the basic bus speeds are either 100MHz (using QDR to make the "400" bus) and 133 (using QDR to make the "533" bus). That means using a "400" bus CPU, you can run your memory at either DDR200 or DDR266, but at 533 bus you get DDR200, DDR266, or DDR354 speeds. PC2700 is DDR333, so it can't support the highest available ratio. DDR400 (PC3200) could easily support DDR354 speed. In fact, PC3200 Cas 2.5 could probably run at Cas 2 when lowered to DDR354 speed.
