Ok, ok here are the facts...
1. We've got the motorola contest for the v710 that ends on July
10th 2004 (This suggests that the phone should be released at least a
month before then).
2. Those FCC pics suggest that the phone will be released by
Verizon. It may also be released by Sprint given the phone is CDMA.
This is no longer a time for speculation. Today is the 13th of May
and with a little luck the phone will be released by some provider in
about a month (I hope they don't screw us with the price). This is the
time to pray. Anyone who likes VW likes them for their coverage. Now
we just want that damned bluetooth. Welcome to the waiting game. I'm
still waiting for my 2004 Prius that I ordered at the end of October.
Damn you Bluetooth! (it's a love hate relationship)

We need to hope that a) the phone is released soon, and b) that Verizon
doesn't disable the bluetooth. I too want a BT phone, and if this one comes
out without the BT, it is hasta la vista baby for Verizon, but I won't be
back! (forgive me for using that wretched governor's pre-election
soundbytes)

Unfortunately I've read the BT in the V710 will only work with headsets.
supposedly won't connect with palm or IPAQ. If so, I'm leaving verizon for
T-Mobile so I can use bluetooth to connect to plam/ipaq & to my bluetooth
equipped car.

You could try a 270c with bluetooth module.

I want to use it with the hands free module integrated into my car. If it
can't do that then Verizon can kiss me goodbye. I'm living in the 21st
century.
Unfortunately T-Mobile has sparse-to-no coverage where I am so they aren't
an option, so I guess it will be either Cingular or smoke signals. Which is
more dependable?

Bluetooth in the V710 will not be fully functional as indicated on
PhoneScoop.com.
But it does support "handsfree, headset, and dial-up-networking
profiles" so it will work will connect to PCs/laptops/handhelds to use
as a modem and also car kits. Some guy on HowardForums.com has one
and he posted that he was able to use Bluetooth with Verizon's
NationalAccess (i.e. Express Network) on his PowerBook and iPaq.
Scroll down about 1/4 the way down this page.
You might want to read the whole thread since the guy that has the
phone gives a lot of info. He even got it working with Motorola's
Bluetooth car kit.
