Well I was looking through my imac's files (clean it up a bit). And I saw SC. I was so happy, because I want to brush up on my skillz for SC2. One problem, have no clue where the CD is. I mean its been a while. So is there any way I can play it without the CD. I don't want to do anything illegal.
But maybe will... :twisted:

I can't help you there, but get this:

When I first bought Starcraft a decade ago, I lost the cd key.

Frustrated and pissed at myself for losing it, I tried typing the following: 123456789012.

I did it in that order and it was accepted!

yah it probably worked, but have you gone on bnet. Someone else is probly using that CD key already.

Ah yes, I only used that for single player. Good point. Never tried it.

you will need the latest 1.15 pach to have the crack work. or downlad apropriate crack for you version.

Are you sure those are legal? If the publishers were happy for the game to be copied they'd probably release it for download.

I suspect the cracks are actually far from legal, and so shouldn't be posted here. As someone who's only just signed up, the forum rules regarding piracy should be fresh in your mind.

Oh, and if you're about to start the debate of "are cracks legal", we've had it a hundred times on these forums - do a search!

This is the long way around, but if you have the manual or box or some parts there of, you can send them to blizzard as proof of the game and they will send you a new key.

I did the same thing (lost the key) and it infuriated me. I was too ticked at myself to just go to the store and get a new copy for $20.

I personally would confirm this with blizzard first, I did. This is a long wait on the phone. Not sure if its worth it at this point for me. I stink at the game, but its fun.

I am sure you are legit, but you'll understand when I say that they all say that.

Just buying a new copy isn't that expensive anymore, and if someone wants to give you a legit key they can send you a PM. This thread is over.

In general please don't post "I lost my CD key, so tell me how I can run without it". Asking for someone if they have a legit key to spare is fine.
