So I was in a starcraft2 game, playing as normal, listening to itunes as well. Then suddenly the music starts to stutter, the screen turns blue, says its going to shut down the computer to prevent any further damage, and then it restarts.

Any way to figure out wtf just happened?

Download HWmonitor and check your temps.

sounds like it could be the overheating problem that SC2 seems to be famous for.
