I agree it is very buggy. I have been playing the beta since day one and it is very very rough. It took me a very long time to get my computer set to the correct settings in order for it to run well at full res on my machine, which is 1680x1050. I actually had to OC my CPU to the furthest I could possibly take it because this game needs a very good CPU. It even has a CPU setting of Low, Medium, and High and a CPU Detail level of Low, Medium, and High. I run them both on high with the CPU in my sig, but the problem that I had was finding an acceptable frame rate and quality setting without alot of tearing on the screen. Vsync only made my frames drop to around 30, which is unacceptable by my standards. Overall it is a real fun game though, that like said is very buggy, but none the less...it is the beta!

There is one thing that worries me, is that when I played this game at quakecon over a year ago it was just about as buggy then as it is now. Which for a year of developments leaves some questions. I am almost tempted to get this on my 360 (i haven't heard anything of it coming out, but my roommate claims he has) only because I believe since they will possibly optimize the best settings they can on the system it will run much smoother...though it will probably have to sacrifice some of the quality that would be fine with me.

Best,

Wow that's surprising. A lot are complaining about the choppyness, which i though is silly (since its a beta) but now i have to agree partially. Either they are having troubles, or working on something pretty radical. Hope its the latter.
Btw did you try these framerate settings..

com_unlockfps 1
com_unlock_maxfps 0
com_unlock_timingmethod 0
