Rambus dead ?

Hi,

I have a simple question : when will Rambus be dead ?... I guess I have to be a bit more explicit : when will dual DDR chipset and mobos be released ?

in MY opinion, rambus is dead now..

DDR333 on a good chipset tests as only slightly slower in real world tests as rambus PC-800, even though PC800 costs far more. PC-1066 is still the fastest but prohibitively expensive for most people.


dual DDR chipsets from intel are coming out around mid winter i believe... not totally sure on that though

PC2700 isn't quite fast enough on a single channel to surpass dual channel RDRAM. Either yet faster DDR or definitely dual channel DDR will kill off RDRAM. Higher bandwidth and lower latency, Rambus has no answer.
