Why don't they put CD keys on the CD cover?

I lost my battlefront 2 manual (lots of spring cleaning) and now cannot install it. I'm hoping I have it installed on my slave drive so I can find the key, but if not I am pretty much screwed. I wish they would put the key on the CD cover, this way it forces you to write it down.

Anyway, would it be possible for me to get any info on the CD cover which would enable me to call up LA and get another key?

(NO Keygens or anything...I'm hoping to find the manual tonight  )

It's more economical to print a label and stick it onto something. Also, now they have a chance of you buying BF2 again :p

By the cover I meant the cover on the CD itself, not the box. Anyway, I ended up finding the game installed on my slave drive and I just imported the registry and got the CD key :hello:

But if you lose your cd and still have the manual with the key on it, all you need then is a copy of the disc you lost and you will still have your legitimate key.

Only solution is to put it on every flat surface inside the retail box including all pages of the manual. Even the french/spanish version.

Even better, How about no CD keys! Keys are a waist of time. The crackers get around them anyway so why bother? LOL I remember the first Sim City you had to use a "secret decoder red plastic thing" and go over a list of codes every time you played. God i miss DOS LOL

besides tracking you when you play online via a PB GUID attached to your game, for example, it really serves no purpose...but before my comments get misconstrued:

[sarcasm]
i just download my games anyway and use a key-gen, why waste money on something that is free?
[/sarcasm]

to prevent this, however, i take all my CD key's and write them into a word file and then encrypt that file and save it on a floppy disk that is always in my CD carrying case and on one of my non-windows HDD's. its also easier for me to have it in a document on the screen versus having to tap it in while holding the book open...but that's just me, its really not that much of a difference.
