My kids have a lot of old computer games that were intended for Win 95/.98 or 2000. (Lots of TLC, Broderbund, Valusoft, etc. software) We're having trouble running them in XP even when using compatability mode (w/appropriate changes to resolution etc.). Even the ones that are made for XP are having problems (we're getting script errors like "Cast member not found" or "handler not defined."

Is there a early Windows emulator that anyone can recommend? Would it fool the software into thinking I had older hardware?

(I've also tried turning down video acceleration with no luck).

Thanks. mcaren

Try vmware? You can install the complete windows on it. And maybe run those older games on it. But i don't know for sure so you just have to try it out.
