Is anyone as excited about the Asus A7N8X as I am?! Dual-Channel DDR400!! Either way, do you know of anywhere to find info on it in English? The Asus website has some info on the Taiwan pages, but not US. THG mentions it in the "AMD Travels Through Time: Athlon XP 2800+ with Dual-DDR" review. Thanks.

definate overkill.
At least the memory controller of the nforce2 is better than the KT333 or KT400 it seems.
but still overkill.
consider: system bus bandwidth of a socket 462 processor is 2.1Gb/sec or 2.7Gb/sec (for the new XP2700 and 2800 processors)
available ram banwidth DDR400 x 2 = 6.4Gb/sec
so really, MOST of that bandwidth is wasted.
dualchannel PC2700 would be quite sufficient.

Its just the very low latencies and memory controller that helps so much.

nForce2 can't run dual channel DDR400.

DDR400 works as DDR400 if only one memory module is installed. With 2 memory modules, they turn into DDR333.

THG and Aces hardware used 2 DDR400 memory modules in dual channel mode, but they worked as Dual channel DDR333 providing 5.4 GB/s bandwidth. If you check these articles again you will find it true.

If anybody wants to have max. memory bandwidth from nForce2, he should use two DDR333 modules instead of two DDR400, becaue it's cheaper and proveides equal bandwidth.

Only had time to glance through it, myself. Been waiting a long time for nForce2.

I thought the nForce2 boards were going to be out this week or next but haven't heard anything yet.

No pre-sales on pricwatch so I am probably wrong about this.
