Can upgrade CPU in old PC?

I've got an older (circa 1999) AcerPower 4300 with a 400Mhz socket 370 Celeron (PPGA, right?). The motherboard (Acer V76M) has a jumper to support both 66MHz and 100MHz front side bus speeds for the CPU. Presently, it is set to 66MHz.

I would like to upgrade this puppy to a faster Celeron II or even a PIII if possible. I have read that the CII Coppermine chips can (?) be used in older socket 370 boards, but do not know if this applies to my case.

Does anyone know if I can just change the fsb speed and plug in a Coppermine chip? Do I need an adapter of sorts? A bios upgrade?

Specs are here:

Any clue would be appreciated.

I can't find any good information to prove that it can't be used, but some were wired wrong for the PIII/CeleronII and wouldn't allow the system to start. You wouldn't damage anything to try one! Do you have access to one you can borrow for the test?

Otherwise I would suggest a new board.
