hello there, I need a program which would repair the file system errors (many ntfs-related strange things shown in the logs) on a non-system partition on primary disk..at every boot windows XP prof. starts the checkdisk and "repairs" something but next boot it's the same ..the system is ok, hdd is ok

I had this problem once...solved only when I connected the drive to computer with win2000 prof. which started the chkdsk one time and repaired it once and for all :D

..but now my mate has the same problem and I thought there may be a program (not from microsoft, I suppose) which would help, or some other easier solution...???
regards!

If you are certain that the file system on the partition contains no errors, you can use the CHKNTFS command to exclude the volume from being scanned at each reboot:

However, if the file system is actually corrupted, perhaps due to bad sectors, it might be a good idea to use something like Partition Magic to back up the data and re-format the partition.
