I have a K6-2 333 cpu in my Soyo SY-5EHM motherboard. My manual says I can run a K6-2 450 cpu. I would really like to run the 550 or better. Is this possible? I have seen a couple of BIOS revisions by SOYO, but they only seem to add support for Cyrix processors.

Yes, you can use it as long as your board has a 5.5x multiplier and 100MHz bus speed.

The jumper settings for the multiplier only go to 5.0x. Can I change the multiplier in the BIOS? Will a more up to date BIOS enable me to go higher?

No, you'll only be able to get 1.5x-5x and 6x then. The K6-2's from roughly 366MHz and up have an internal multiplier conversion of 2x=6x. You can get the 550 and try to run it at 600, if that doesn't work you'll have to run it at 500.
