Just a quick note to let all the students out there know that there are a number of companies and groups that will allow you to buy software (possibly some hardware too) at huge savings because you are a student.

A lot of the software comes with restrictions about only using them for personal / non-comercial use.

Check out http://www.studica.com (This is the one I have dealt with... really great)
http://www.academicsuperstore.com or http://www.academicsuperstore.ca (for those in Canada)

Many of you may already know about this... but I sure didn't. I came accross it only by accident. Deals are usually useable by students from grade school to university and faculty too (some include other staff as well).

A great way to get some high-end programs for a lot less. Though be sure to hunt around for the best prices.

Also, make sure that it is an approved and acredited group. The ones I listed I have checked out... there are many others though. Some will present that they are but are not. Some companies like ADOBE will also do student deals directly (as well as go through these other companies).

If they are legit the company whose product they are selling will have an agreement with them for that purpose. If you are ever not sure, call that company and see if they offer student pricing and deal with the seller you are unsure about.
