A7V problems

I've got a problem with my "new" computer. I have a new Asus mb, but uses an old cd-rw and HD. Everything looks fine when starting up. POST is ok. Bios (award) locates everything but it stops in devicelisting.
It can't boot from either cd or floppy.

any ideas?

I seem to be having similar problems with my P4T533-C. I attached my old hard drive and it booted. It just doesn't want to boot on the CDROM and floppy, which you need in order to format a hard drive.
I've tried everything, but will try just one more later: check if the orientation of the floppy cable (and/or CDROM in your case) is right. The floppy's pin one is supposed to be in the end opposite to the power (unlike the CDROM and hard drive).
