You would sure think so by the selection at your local Game Stop or EB Games. I went in there yesterday to buy a new PC game and all they had was one little section of PC games, one tiny rack in the back of the store. While console games are on every single wall, used, new, upcoming. All the while the PC games are on a tiny rack in the back of the store... I see a million threads "gaming pc" but why build them when the selection seems to be limited? Maybe it's just my neck of the woods, but from the prementioned stores, sure seems like console gaming is where the money is at.

Anyone else notice this?

I believe this is far from and isolated instance. Game stores here in KC are almost exclusive console stores. EB, like you stated, has more real estate tied up in console Pre-Order boxes than all their PC games total. If they do have the PC game being sought out, it's just 1 copy. Their online selection is good, but better prices can be found if buying online, just no instant gratification. On the rare occasions I even go to EB anymore it almost feels like walking into a pawn shop, used titles abound. Now I have nothing against buying a used game, but it's sickening to think how much money they are making giving traders shuch lousy values, only to turn around and sell it for $5-$10 off new.

Fortunately Best Buy seems to feel PC gamers pain (at least here in KC), as they have 2 full aisles (4 sides!) of PC games, consuming as much shelf space as the combined console titles. Plus they still have 2 aisles of educational/productivity software. There are plenty of PC games to play, but they don't get the press or shelf-space they deserve.

yes... with all the new consoles coming out console gaming is HOT. Consoles are made for gaming pc aint consoles have no problems you plug in a cd and it will play it on max settings. It break they replace it for you no questions asked unless you smashed it with a cleaver. Personally I think consoles are better if you ONLY game but most people dont they surf the interweb and work on their pc with a little gaming on the side. But all games eventually come out on pc anyways. As for The everlasting battle between pc vs console gaming thats well... everlasting. But seriously... if you only game get yourself a xbox360 plugin your 40" minium screen. Not a expensive pc with a 22" screen.

I just find it so ironic that in the general homebuilt section that there are so many "gamers build" and such when the market seems to be shrinking. I guess thats why most retailers carry 90% console and 10% PC. I guess PC's gaming will always have its followers, espically in the MMO genre. Although some MMO's are trying to come to the console, but how can you type and use a joystick, I guess you can just use a keyboard. I never really payed attention until recently, I was just shocked at the selection of PC games, or lackthereof.

It's not that... theses like 90 consoles with 5 major companies competing theres only one pc with 2 O/S companies competing. I wouldn't worry... Consoles ARE computers. Plus the fact that there are somethings that just can't be done on consoles like mmos and fps and rts and most importantly PORN lets see anyone get that on a console no way controllers can manage that. PC users can use limewire, bittorrent and other stuff. For Console it's 59.99 or no deal.
