I got around 8000 with the same card. I think my processor (Athlon X2 4200+) holds my score down but I haven't seen any negative effect in games.

All the games I play run great.

For some reason my pc does not run 3dmark it just sits there at the loading screen and uses 79% of my cpu power (firefox is using the rest) does anyone know what might be wrong? I really want to know what the hell is wrong cause i have no clue what score i can get with this PC.

@limpman, LOL; they use 3dmark06 at the default setting @ 1280. No cheating but atleast you're honest. That was the default resolution setting in 05. also if you have xp, run 3dmark in that, you'll get a better score.

@limpman, Shut down side bar, steam and Norton, unplug yourself from the internet and run it again, you should get a even better score. Also have you overclocked your gtx?

The memory is currently untuned and one GTX is having OC issues. If I can get it figured out and tune up the mem, I think I can hit mid 18,000's but thats it. Short of Prometia or Vapochill on the CPU, thats all she's gonna give me.

IMO, Vista is the problem. Try benchmark it on XP and see the result. Hope this help.

I scored 5K with my laptop. Not great, but hey it's a lappy. Check the sig for specs.

Just re-ran the test and got it up to 10780 by overclocking my Graphics card a bit more.

I think I could probably hit 11000 if i cranked everything. I had the cpu up to 3.55 stable but for 150MHz less I could drop the volts from 1.53 to 1.42 so I opted for the more efficient choice. Other than that, I am pretty happy

Wow guys. I see you all got got DX10 cards already! I score about 4500 with my ol' 7800GTX. I guess my e-penis is dwarfed completely compared to all of you. But at least I get real action rather (yes, with real girls!!) than standing in front of my PC tuning it to run 3Dmark as fast as possible!!

The first day I had the system it ran.. just over 13000 in 3dMark.. 9 months later... I can score just over 10000.. so I think its time to rebuild this sucker.. some new thermal paste.. and clean the fans out

You guys have much faster CPUs. If I had HATMAN's CPU I would push 14226 with a CPU score like that. Hatman, you should step up to a GTX or 2900XT sooner or later. I'll have a nice Quad Core system built in December. Hell, I may add another GPU just for the heck of it.

I get about 9100 on mine. I haven't refreshed windows in a while, so I could probably nudge that up a bit with a fresh install. I overclocked my processor to the limit of where it would go before increasing voltages from stock, temps are so low I can keep all my fans low so my system is practically silent.
