I built my computer from parts the summer of 2000 and I want to play some of the newer games and it is starting to run slow so I am considering an upgrade. Right now I have a P3 600e overclocked to 800mHz, 128mb PC133 RAM, Sound Blaster Live, Maxtor 30gb 7200rpm drive, and a Geforce 2 MX Video Card. I like the Athlon XP Processors and have thought of getting the XP1600 with the AGOIA cores and overclock it. I am having a problem on deciding on what type of board I want; KT333, KT400, or NForce 2 (when it comes out and how much it is). I don't want to spend a fortune on the upgrade so what type of board should I get to have a stable XP1600 running at a pretty fast overclock. I also need some new memory and a Video Card. I was thinking about 512mb of Corsair XMS PC2700 RAM; if there is a cheaper and more sensible solution please inform me, Video Cards I was thinking about 128mb TI4200 but I don't know if thats the best or wait for Radeon 9700 pros or something else to come out soon. If anyone could just please give me some input on what all I should look at getting I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again in advance!!

Check out my Rig (link below). I'm happy with it. Go here:http://www.amdforums.com/ . Look at some of the posts in the mobo forums to give you an idea of some of the problems and fixes other people are having.

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done, and why. Then do it. MY RIG: http://www.btvillarin.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=327
