I have an odd problem with Lost Planet: Extreme Condition for the PC.
After playing about a minute my screen goes black and then into sleep mode, and the GPU fan goes mental. The game seems to be running because the Audio is still playing.
I have seen this problem before, Supreme Commander I think.

My Specs are
Mobo Gigabyte K8 Triton
CPU AMD 64 X2 4600+
RAM 2 GB Corsair Matched Pair
GPU Radeon X1950 Pro

Have tried it lowest graphics settings, Patching the GPU etc.

I had something similar occur on Half-Life 2: Episode 1 with an AMD-ATI rig here in the office -- screen went dead, but the audio was still there -- and it turned out to be a driver issue for the GPU. But it sounds like you've already looked into GPU patches, drivers updates and such.

I have the same problem but it happened when playing the demo. Only with me it just crashes.

Just an update, think I may have found a problem with a power supply to this card, it wants 30Amps on the 12Volt rail. Haven't found a suitable supply under £100
