I have a Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro joystick (Part No: X03-57540). It has a gameport for its connection, but my computer does not have a gameport. So i went to Radio Shack and bought a gameport to usb adapter (Model 26-728), but it doesn't seem to work. My computer (XP SP2) recognizes it and installs the drivers, but when i go to callibrate (through the control panel then to game controllers) it just speeds through the process very quickly. Also, at the screen for where you can test the buttons/axes, everything is going haywire (everything is lighting up randomly).

I would appreciate any help with this matter. I have spent the last two hours searching on the web for a solution but I am beginning to think that there isn't one. At this point I am okay with that answer.

Thanks a bunch.
