I've aqcuired a PC which I've been told has an Athlon XP2000 CPU.

Presently the Jetway motherboard is defaulted to 'optimised settings', the host clock is set to 100mhz and the DRAM clock to 133Mhz.

The BIOS reports the a 1250Mhz CPU is present.

System runs ok.

When I set the host clock to 133Mhz the machine refuses to boot up.

I cannot find any setting in the Jetway BIOS menu specifically for the 'FSB speed'.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Many thanks.

Goto the Jetway website and see if there's a FAQ or a manual you can download. If there's nothing in the BIOS there must be a jumper or Dip switch to set the FSB.

I hope you can understand Chinese!

I've just been informed that the 'host clock' setting is another term for the 'FSB speed'.

That's useful to know!

I'm still stuck though for why I cannot get the CPU to run at 1666MHz though which I believe is usual for an XP2000.

Why does the system not boot when I set the FSB/host clock speed to 133Mhz?

Found it - this motherboard is not 100% jumperless - I've just found the jumper to take FSB from 100Mhz to 133 or 166.

Problem solved.
