Hey...so I got up Friday morning and my computer was completely dead. Figured it was the power supply, so I replaced it with one from an old case I had laying around. Again...nothing!! The CPU fan will glicth when I hit the power button, but that is it. So I am thinking motherboard...any of you have any ideas before I go on a spending spree???

Thanks,

Specs: ECS K7S5A, AMD XP1700, 256 PC133 RAM, GeForce2, Antec case and power supply

Basically you need to see if it will still post.
So take out all expansion cards except for the video card, disconnect all ide cables from the motherboard, so now you should be left with only the power supply, ram, cpu, cpu fan, and video card connected. Now see if it will post. If not, then start swapping the remaining parts. Sounds to me like it got zapped, most likely the cpu or motherboard. However, I have seen the same symptoms when only the hard drive went bad! Once disconnected the machine powered up!
